Let’s be clear. When we discuss profit it is the EBITDA (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation). In other words what the business is making before the necessary end of year adjustments by your accountant.
It should exclude a market rate salary for the time that you work in the business, although not any additional drawings that you take from the business.
